Hello Summer! Well, not really but Aldi wants you to be prepared. Lots of summer gear this week.
Here’s what I think are the best buys this week:
Produce: I don’t see this in the ad but someone in an Aldi Facebook group I’m a member of found cape gooseberries (ground cherries) at their Aldi! They are pricey and hard to find so if your Aldi has them, scoop them up! I made this salad with them that was amazing. Organic red grapes $3.49/2 lb, 99¢/lb green beans, 25¢ each Florida corn on the cob, $3.59 whole watermelon, 99¢ avocados, $1.89/pint blueberries.
Meat/Seafood: $7.99/lb ground bison (this price is about average but bison can be tricky to find), Kirkwood FRESH Stuffed Chicken Breast $4.29/12 oz, $2.99 thick cut pork chops, 95¢/lb whole fresh chicken, $6.99/lb skirt steak (another cut that is trickier to find).
Frozen food: A ton of items from their “Journey to…” international line. Everything from samosas to Thai curry for $6 and under. I haven’t had any of these items personally but their “Journey to…” items are generally some of my favorites.
Nonfood items: Lots of camping stuff including the truly bizarre Adventuridge Wearable Sleeping Bag $39.99 which looks like a padded onesie for adults. More normal items include Adventuridge Portable Table With Benches $49.99, Adventuridge Pop-Up LED Lantern Set $9.99, Adventuridge Twin Airbed With Pump $14.99, Adventuridge Pop-Up Tent $24.99, Johnson & Johnson 140-Piece First Aid Kit $11.49, Crane Aluminum Backpack Chair or Lounger $24.99.
Non-camping items–Crofton Pancake Pan Assortment $7.99 (makes shaped pancakes!),Crofton Multi-Wedger $6.99 (stackable and cuts everything from apples to mango),Crofton Chef’s Collection Fry and Oven Pan $19.99, Easy Home 8000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner $199.99, Easy Home 20″ Box Fan $14.99, Huntington Home 20″ W x 28″ L Cool Comfort Pillow $6.99 (for that price, I might give this pillow a try!).
