This week’s ad is an odd mash-up of Valentine’s Day stuff and a bit of last minute “big game” type deals. I didn’t do a big shop for last week’s ad, just some sour cream, salsa, avocados for these Loaded Chili Baked Potatoes and the fryer. The fryer is going back because while it looks fine, it is really small, it would be great for one person or someone willing to make many batches of small foods like fries or tater tots.
Produce: Avocados 49¢/each, red onions 79¢/2 lb bag, 69¢ seedless cucumbers, blueberries $1.79/pint. Roma tomatoes are 89¢/lb but I can’t imagine they are very good this time of year.
Meat deals are a little game focused this week: 73% Lean Ground Beef $1.99/lb but honestly, I’d pay more and get something leaner, I’ve never seen beef with such a high percentage of fat for sale before! $1.99/lb for frozen chicken wings, thanks to the popularity of wings the price has really gone up so this is a pretty good deal. St. Louis Pork Spareribs $1.99/lb, fresh Bacon Wrapped Jalapeño Peppers at $6.49/lb which isn’t too bad for a prepped appetizer, I saw a similar item at Fresh Market on sale for $8.99/lb.
Frozen snack foods: $1.69 for poppers and mozzarella sticks, $4.99 for bagel pizzas, taquitos for $3.99.
Fresh snack foods: Fresh St. Deli Meat Party Tray $8.99, cheese cubes $1.99/8 oz, 16-oz dips for $3.99, $5.49 take and bake pizzas.
Various chips and shelf-stable items for making dip and other snacks from $2.99 down.
Valentine’s Day Tons of candy from $3.99 truffles to $2.95 Fun Dip. $2.99 silicone heart-shaped baking pans, cards for 79¢, $7.99 fleece throw and pillow set. Seasonal stuffed animals from giant sized ($12.99) to $2.99 normal sized ones.
The $4.99 fridge organizer bins are back. I have the egg one and the narrow one. The egg one works well but holds 14 eggs which is odd! The narrow one is perfect for bricks of cheese or sticks of butter.
Oddest item? National Geographic 50mm Telescope for $24.99
